Hi everyone. It’s been 6 months since I last posted. I’ll try to do more posting in future!

I don’t get out as much as I used to, but I’ll do what I can to get back into this.

Merry Christmas

Hi everyone. I wanted to wish you all a very merry Xmas, and I hope you all have a safe and fantastic time with your families and loved ones.

I know this has been a bit ‘dead’ over the past few months. I’ve been posting most of my food photos to Instagram without doing any reviews here.

What do you want?

When you read a restaurant / cafe review on here, what do you want to see?

What kinds of details do you want included? What kinds of photos do you want to see?

Do you just want photos of food, and maybe any particular stories that are relevant, or do you want full details about food, environment, staff and value?

I’m looking to improve the kinds of reviews I have on here, so please give your feedback, it would be greatly appreciated. 🙂

Brunch @ Cafe Essen

Cafe Essen has been a favourite place for many years now. It’s a place that I’ve always enjoyed going back to again and again.

Whether it’s for breakfast, brunch, dinner, coffee or just hanging out with friends. It’s always been a local attraction that’s never gone stale.

Some of my favourites from Essen have included their awesome smoothies, and they do a great selection of teas and coffees. There’s even a Russian tea with jam…

Anyway, you can see some samples of the food below.

Lunch again @ Ricardo’s Cafe

Ever since we went to Ricardo’s a couple of weeks ago, we’ve wanted to go back there. We enjoyed the food so much that we looked forward to going back.

We went back there today with some different people. I was looking forward to the opportunity to take more photos of more food, and I’m really happy with the results.

Taking photos in restaurants

I’ve been reading about food photography today, and I was a little surprised at what I found. Apparently there are people out there that disapprove of people taking photos of food in restaurants.

And here I was, thinking that everyone loved taking photos of food in restaurants. But apparently not.

Lunch @ Ricardo’s Cafe

We went to a new cafe today, at the invitation of some friends that we’re often going out with to restaurants and cafes. It’s apparently a place they go to often, and they thought we might like to go to this one too.

They were right.

When we arrived it was almost standing room only. It was so busy! This was obviously a good sign.

Yum Cha @ Prince Palace

My favourite Yum Cha restaurant is Prince Palace in Belconnen. I’ve been here a few times, and always enjoyed it for the variety and the taste. So when we had the opportunity to go there a few days ago with some friends, I decided it would be a good time to take some photos of the food and do a review about it.

There was about 6 of us around the table, which was a really good number for getting a whole lot of varied dishes. And yes, we got a whole lot of dishes….
